RAFIQUE ISLAM, PRINCIPAL

 

 

·         As principal in charge of design, Rafique has a close working knowledge of renovation, repair, and new construction.  He is the designer of projects of all sizes and complexities able to analyze program requirements, time and cost constraints, and produce solutions in terms of functional design.

 

·         Rafique's architectural career began in 1973 while working in Dallas for a firm specializing in regional shopping malls.  Later he spent 2 years working on a junior college in Dallas prior to moving to Phoenix in 1977.  After arriving in Phoenix, Rafique worked in large architectural firms and was responsible for the design of such landmark projects as Paradise Valley Mall, Desert Sky Mall, Hayden Square, Cornerstone, Superstition Springs Center, and El Pedregal at the Boulders.

 

·         After joining SFPA as a founding principal, Rafique has been involved in design of diverse types and sizes of projects such as the Westcor Hangar, Komatke swimming pool complex, Desert Sky Mall renovation, Paradise Valley Mall renovation, AZ Fire Protection office building, and Scottsdale Bead Supply building.

 

·         Rafique is an integral part of the design team, working closely with the other partners and staff.
